Last Thursday I went on another day trip, this time with the SEA (Shanghai Expat Association). <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We headed about 2 hours outside of Shanghai via a bus to a town called Wuxi.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We walked through beautiful gardens full of cherry blossoms on our way to Taihu Lake.  Taihu Lake is the 3rd largest freshwater lake in China and is known for its northwest shore – Turtle Head Peninsula. Turtle Head Peninsula gets its name for its huge rocks extending into the lake, looking like a turtle raising its head.<\/div>\n

After having a traditional Chinese lunch (let me just say – thank goodness for rice…) we headed on a ferry to Taihu Fairy Island. The island has some “tourist attractions” that were built in 1990. There are paths with temples, waterfalls and Buddhas all which gave pretty views of the lake.<\/div>\n

Always a great time getting out of the city!<\/div>\n
