{"id":1492,"date":"2013-05-14T17:50:04","date_gmt":"2013-05-14T17:50:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/livefoodtravel.com\/?p=1492"},"modified":"2013-05-14T18:10:56","modified_gmt":"2013-05-14T18:10:56","slug":"thursday-may-2-our-excursion-to-cadiz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/livefoodtravel.com\/?p=1492","title":{"rendered":"Thursday May 2 &#8211; our excursion to Cadiz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fabulous day in the coastal city of Cadiz!<\/p>\n<p>Our day started with a train ride from Sevilla to Cadiz.<\/p>\n<p>Cadiz is on the water and is a popular cruise stop.  It is a very tropical town that looks like we stepped into the Pirates of the Caribbean! <\/p>\n<p>We had a wonderful day walking around, seeing some of it&#8217;s sights &#8211; like the Plaza de San Antonio, Plaza de Mina, the City Gates, Plaza de Espana with the Monument to the Constitution of 1812 and the beaches.<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed a nice snack then lunch and later some delicious ice cream!  After ordering a delicious pistachio gelato I saw people eating a pre-made cone coated with chocolate. I had to order it! It turns out it is an item they are known for for the past 70 year!<\/p>\n<p>After a lovely train ride back Lauren and I go have a drink at a wonderful roof top bar that overlooks the cathedral!
