I’m obsessed with MUJI!
MUJI is a Japanese retailer that sells clothing, cosmetics, skin care and home wares.
I guess the best way to explain it is – simple lines/colors and minimalistic furniture. A little similar to Ikea in regards to the furniture…
I walk into the store and just feel relaxed. There are a few stores in New York so far. I think we will be making a trip when we get back to the US!
Fairmont Peace Hotel tour
The Fairmont Peace Hotel is a beautiful Hotel on the Bund in Shanghai. It was built by Victor Sassoon and completed in 1929.
It originally housed Sassoon’s offices and residence, then became the Cathay Hotel and in 2010 it became the Fairmont Peace Hotel after a 3 year renovation.
The architecture is amazing and was built in the Art Deco style.
So beautiful!

The boxes that look like radiators are actually air conditioning units. Very rare for that time period.

Fantastic time in Taiwan!
This past weekend I went to Taiwan to visit our friends Jean and Stephen (and their children)!
It was so nice to leave Shanghai for a few days and see Taiwan. Although I had been in Taiwan a few years ago I really enjoyed seeing Taipei. It is very mountainous and tropical.
We did some hiking, went to one of their children’s jazz concert and saw the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Of course great food and friends were included too!
