Some blue sky peaking through the trees…
It’s not a common occurrence these days!
I had an Under the Tuscan Sun Moment!
If you have ever seen the movie Under the Tuscan Sun – Diane Lane’s character waves at a gentleman throughout the movie and at the end he finally waves back. My Mandarin school in in this little neighborhood that is mainly residential. Everyday (unless it’s raining) a man sits at the entrance to the lane … Continue reading
My journey to Mandarin everyday….
For me to get to class I need to walk about 10 minutes to get to the Metro, ride it for about 10 minutes and then finish up with a 15 minute walk. The walk from the hotel to and from the Metro includes a walk through a lovely park. It is considered an art … Continue reading

When we arrived there we found out they were having a one year anniversary party! We tried a delicious bagel sandwich and … Continue reading
My Mandarin School!
So it turns out that the owner of the school, Lin, is quite the artist. She drew pictures of my teacher Eva, herself and me. I’m the one on the right of the picture! My teacher, Eva, is in the peach blouse and Lin is in the long green skirt.
Beautiful day in Shanghai yesterday!
We finally had a sunny day with a slight breeze. After my Mandarin class I headed out for a little shopping and some sightseeing! I took an interesting ride called the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel. Basically it is a little monorail like car that takes you under the Huangpu River to get you from one part … Continue reading
