Fairmont Peace Hotel tour

Posted by on April 19, 2016

The Fairmont Peace Hotel is a beautiful Hotel on the Bund in Shanghai. It was built by Victor Sassoon and completed in 1929.

It originally housed Sassoon’s offices and residence, then became the Cathay Hotel and in 2010 it became the Fairmont Peace Hotel after a 3 year renovation.

The architecture is amazing and was built in the Art Deco style.

So beautiful!

Beautiful stained glass. The figures in the corners are actually greyhound dogs.

Art Deco design

The boxes that look like radiators are actually air conditioning units. Very rare for that time period.

Beautiful room – once was the lobby now is a lounge.

Me and the Bund!
